Molly McGee Hewitt PhD, CAE

Molly McGee Hewitt is a strong advocate for the public education system, with a career focused on student education. She started as a classroom teacher, then moved on to roles as an administrator and school board member. Her passion for public education led her to executive association management, where she served as the CEO and Executive Director for the California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO) for 12 years. Currently, she is the Executive Director and CEO at the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) and the NAPT Foundation.

Under Molly’s leadership, NAPT has introduced various initiatives to advance its mission of empowering and assisting the pupil transportation profession through communication, leadership, education, advocacy, and resources. From reinstating the association’s Training Academy Series, revamping the Annual Conference with a new name, logo, and program schedule, establishing a committee framework to support the association’s small professional team, and advocating for student-focused policies nationwide. Molly's passion for public education and pupil transportation is evident in her tireless efforts to build partnerships with state affiliate members, government agencies, and business industry leaders. Her vision has not only elevated the standards of pupil transportation but has also inspired a new generation of professionals committed to making a difference.

She is the author of four books, has written over 200 blogs and articles, and has given speeches in various locations in the United States and South America. Additionally, she has provided consultancy and guidance to educational systems, associations, as well as profit and non-profit organizations. Molly holds a B.S. in organizational development, an M.S. in school business leadership, and a Ph.D. in adult and community education and training. She is also a Certified Association Executive (CAE), a credential marking a committed association professional who has demonstrated the wide range of knowledge essential to manage an association in today’s challenging environment. Molly is actively involved on several boards and serves on WRI’s Electric School Bus Initiative advisory council.

Molly is the recipient of over 200 Awards and Commendations including honors from the United States Senate and Congress, the Governor of California, The California State Assembly and Senate and the city of Anaheim, County of Orange, the California School Boards Association, CASBO, and ASBO International.

A familiar panelist, speaker, and trainer who is recognized for captivating her audiences with engaging and dynamic presentations. Her blend of wit, humor, and a clear message has endeared her to many. Molly steers clear of standard presentations and instead focuses on staying up-to-date and tailoring her programs to meet the specific requirements of each group she addresses, ensuring unforgettable experiences.

On a personal and professional level, she has noted that her goal “will always be to empower, encourage and inspire educational leaders.”
