Alex M. Spann is a transportation professional with more than 10 years in the school bus industry.

Spann works with offices and agencies such as the Tennessee State School Board and Tennessee Highway Patrol to ensure each public school district as well as charter school transportation departments operate within the scope of local and federal laws.

“I have always been of the mindset that continuing to be an active driver will help me be a more effective administrator,” said Spann. “Seeing and dealing first-hand with the issues drivers are dealing with daily gives me valuable insight to help lead the State of Tennessee forward.”

Spann has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (K-6) from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee and is an NAPT® Certified Director of Pupil Transportation (CDPT).
